States you will see
Never scanned means the site has no completed scan baseline yet.
In progress means a scan has started and has not finished.
Completed means the latest scan finished successfully.
Failed means the latest attempt failed and should be reviewed.
Stale means the last completed scan exists, but the results may no longer reflect the current site state.
Why it matters
A stale or failed state changes how much confidence you should place in the risk score and findings list.
The UI is meant to make currentness obvious rather than implying that old data is still fresh.
Recommended action
If the scan is stale, run a fresh scan.
If the scan failed, review troubleshooting guidance and run it again after the underlying problem is resolved.
